UC Berkeley Eyewear Retail Center
Part of the new UC Berkeley Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry and Vision Science.

Having experience mostly in institutional work versus market retail, TEF, the Architect of Record contracted us to design the retail portion of the project. The goal was to provide an in-store experience that would remain stylish and up-to- date, while providing ample room as a teaching facility in order to offer hands-on retail experience for the students. Designed as a family care practice, the displays and waiting area are playful yet durable, while continuing to be healthcare focused. A nod to the university’s mascot, the waiting lounge is designed as a den-like cave area, working within the Cal Bears theme.
