This optometry office is based on the concept of vision — refracting light into focus. In this case, the space starts as a compressed, curving tunnel that increases in width and height, ending in a floor-to-ceiling glass window that overlooks a street. The reflected light draws in the passerby and gives the literal effect of a light at the end of a tunnel (a didactic explanation of vision). Rotating display cases backed with mirrors punctuate the tunnel walls, providing an interactive display while allowing maximum storage. Ancillary spaces for waiting, reception and exams occur outside of the tube and are painted in vivid colors to give further contrast to the white light tunnel.
