Hi there! We’re looking for a talented designer to join our team.
Working at JLA:
Designers work under direct supervision of a project architect/manager. As a designer, work may include producing as-built drawings, inputting schematic design sketches, helping to develop said schematic design through all phases of a project, construction administration assistance, and 3D presentation materials.
Professional Qualifications:
Solid background in Design and Production workflow with some experience in all project phases for design and construction documents. Good organizational and clear communication skills and a demonstrated design sensibility are required. The ability and motivation to master new software programs and work deeply in 3D model environment are a must. Advancement and growth/education opportunities are available.
- 2-5 years of full-time work experience (post-internship)
- Motivated to build knowledge and skills gained as a Junior Designer (Entry Level Architectural Staff Equivalent)
- Demonstrated design sensibility and strong portfolio
- Professional and responsive in client and consultant communications
- Competent in production processes
- Able to adapt to office standards and design language
- Basic comprehension of building systems and details
- Rudimentary exposure to Project Management/Administration
- Familiar or have some exposure to in-field construction process/protocols
- Basic comprehension of permit process/documentation
- Working knowledge of Vectorworks desired (comparable to Revit)
- Familiarity with 3D visualization tools is a bonus (Rhino, Adobe Creative Cloud, Twin Motion)
