HENRY MALMBERG, AIA

ARCHITECT

Experience
A Bay Area native, Henry joined John Lum Architecture in 2013 after graduating from the University of Oregon and spending two years working with a small design-build firm in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Combining his keen design sense and expertise in CAD software, Henry is currently responsible for the firm’s visualization output, including 3D rendering and drawing standards. He is interested in exploring how buildings come together and is leading the process of developing the firm’s standard detail library. Outside of work, Henry spends his days planning his next adventure and hiking the Berkeley hills with his Springer Spaniel, Wyatt.

Even a brick wants to be something.” – Luis Kahn

Similar to the dry-stacked stone ruins I explored during my time in Peru, Allied Works’ Mayhill Overlook is inspirational to me as it reflects how architecture, and the creation of space, can both contrast with and contribute to the beauty of nature.
