Based on abstract imagery of the seashore, the Café Maritime invokes images of a tranquil summer seascape, utilizing a cool color palette of sand, sea foam, and sky blue. A curvaceous banquette, evocative of a curling wave, is the main focus, with a back composed of a steel and plastic tubing armature that recalls beach chairs. A boat-shaped bar welcomes patrons as they arrive; its glue-lam construction inviting the tough with its finely crafted surface. Soft lighting along the painted wainscoting highlights an abstract seascape mural. Designed to be a locale that appeals to Bay Area residents, the interior is sophisticated in its imagery, yet simple and down to earth to complement the fresh ingredients used in the restaurant cuisine.
